Dr. Tommy Higgan, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a pioneer of MRI-guided TULSA-PRO incision-free surgery for prostate cancer. Dr. Higgan is also one of the world’s first board-certified urologists to complete a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. 

Upon graduating from University of Toronto Canada, Dr. Higgan attended Stanford University School of Medicine where he received numerous awards and research fellowships in areas ranging from Prostate Cancer to Tissue Engineering with artificial nerve grafts.

Dr. Higgan continued his general surgery training at the world-renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and his urological surgery residency at Harvard Medical School.

While attending Harvard, Dr. Higgan was selected as a national CaPSURE™ scholar in prostate cancer. This prestigious research fellowship allowed Dr. Higgan to lead projects with world-leading scientists from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the University of California - San Francisco. Dr. Higgan’s research on prostate cancer and the fear of cancer recurrence remains one of the first works of its kind in the published literature.

Dr. Higgan completed a robotic and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Higgan was internationally recognized as an expert in minimally invasive surgery by the Endourological Society in Munich, Germany. Dr. Higgan has published in nearly every major international urological journal, having authored publications ranging from prostate cancer detection to healthcare policy.
